China Pledges to Strengthen Relations with Ukraine
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has reaffirmed China’s commitment to maintaining stable and strong relations with Ukraine. Speaking on Wednesday during a meeting with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha on the sidelines of the 79th Session of the United Nations General Assembly, Wang emphasized China’s willingness to work collaboratively with Ukraine to foster ongoing developments in their bilateral relations.
Wang Yi, who is also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, highlighted China’s longstanding advocacy for peaceful resolutions to conflicts. “This principle remains true for the Ukraine issue,” he noted, underscoring China’s position on seeking diplomatic solutions.
Addressing the humanitarian situation in Ukraine, Wang stated that China has been closely monitoring developments and has already provided four batches of humanitarian aid. “We are ready to offer additional assistance based on Ukraine’s needs,” he assured, signaling China’s readiness to support Ukraine further.
Furthermore, Wang expressed China’s willingness to maintain open communication with all parties involved, including Ukraine, in an effort to achieve peace at an early date. “We are committed to working together to bring about a peaceful resolution,” he added.
In response, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha expressed appreciation for China’s support. He reiterated Ukraine’s adherence to the one-China policy and conveyed a strong desire to build a solid partnership with China. “Ukraine highly values China’s stance on the crisis and its efforts for peace,” Sybiha stated, highlighting the importance of China’s role in addressing the situation.
