In a bid to strengthen ties, China’s Vice Foreign Minister Sun Weidong met with Japan’s State Minister for Foreign Affairs Tsuge Yoshifumi on Monday. The meeting, held in Beijing, focused on enhancing China-Japan relations and addressing issues of mutual interest.
Both sides emphasized the importance of valuing and developing the bilateral relationship between China and Japan. They agreed to work collaboratively to implement the important common understandings reached by their national leaders, aiming to comprehensively advance their strategic relationship of mutual benefit.
The officials also discussed the recent tragic death of a student from the Shenzhen Japanese School. They acknowledged each other’s efforts in handling the incident appropriately and calmly. Both parties agreed to maintain open communication to prevent the incident from negatively impacting bilateral ties.
The meeting underscores the commitment of both nations to foster cooperation and address challenges together, reinforcing stability and mutual understanding in the region.
