Xi Jinping Extends Condolences to Vietnam’s To Lam Over Typhoon Yagi Disaster

Chinese President Xi Jinping, who is also the General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, extended his heartfelt condolences on Saturday to To Lam, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee and Vietnamese President, following the devastation caused by Typhoon Yagi in Vietnam.

In his message, Xi acknowledged the severe impact of Typhoon Yagi on Vietnam’s northern provinces, which resulted in significant loss of life and property. He expressed deep sorrow for the victims and offered sincere sympathies to the bereaved families and all those affected in the disaster-stricken areas.

“China and Vietnam are friendly neighbors connected by mountains and rivers, sharing a profound relationship of ‘comrades plus brothers’,” Xi stated. “China stands ready to provide assistance within its capacity to support Vietnam in this challenging time.”

Xi Jinping also conveyed his confidence that under the leadership of the CPV and the Vietnamese government, the people in the affected regions will overcome difficulties and rebuild their homes at an early date.
