Xi Jinping’s Key Speech on Advancing Chinese Modernization to be Published

A pivotal speech delivered by Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, is set to be published on Monday in the 18th issue of Qiushi Journal, the flagship magazine of the CPC Central Committee.

This speech, given during the second plenary meeting of the third plenum of the 20th Central Committee of the CPC, outlines comprehensive strategies for deepening reforms to advance Chinese modernization.

The address draws on experiences since the reform and opening up, particularly focusing on comprehensive reforms in the new era. It thoroughly analyzes the current situation and the requirements for advancing Chinese modernization, harnessing the collective wisdom of the entire Party and society.

Xi Jinping emphasizes the necessity of an in-depth study of the plenary session’s essence, especially understanding the theme of further deepening reform to promote Chinese modernization. He highlights key principles, major initiatives, and fundamental guarantees essential for this endeavor.

The implementation of the resolution’s plans is urged to be effective, with a focus on enhancing organizational capabilities, coordinating various reforms, supporting innovation, and achieving tangible results.

Looking ahead to the second half of the year, the speech calls for solid efforts to achieve annual economic and social development goals while effectively balancing development and security. It also stresses the importance of summarizing and evaluating the implementation of the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-2025) and initiating preliminary planning for the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-2030).

On deepening comprehensive and strict Party governance, Xi urges efforts to tackle formalism and bureaucracy, improve Party conduct, foster a clean government, and advance the fight against corruption.
