Xi Jinping Sends Congratulatory Letter to Beijing Xiangshan Forum

The 11th Beijing Xiangshan Forum commenced on Thursday in Beijing, receiving a significant boost as Chinese President Xi Jinping sent a heartfelt congratulatory letter to the attendees. The forum, themed “Promoting Peace for a Shared Future”, has attracted an unprecedented number of participants this year.

In his letter, President Xi highlighted the profound global changes unfolding on a scale unseen in a century. He emphasized the world’s collective yearning for security and stability amidst these transformations. President Xi underscored China’s commitment to the Global Security Initiative, an effort to foster international consensus, address the roots of conflicts, enhance global security governance, and tirelessly strive toward a world characterized by lasting peace and universal security.

Expressing his aspirations for the forum, President Xi encouraged participants to uphold the principles of equality, openness, inclusiveness, and mutual learning. He called for strengthening broad consensus and deepening mutual trust among nations. “Together, we can make new and greater contributions to addressing global security challenges and promote the building of a human community with a shared future,” he stated.

This year’s Xiangshan Forum is notable not only for its theme but also for its extensive participation. Over 500 official representatives from more than 100 countries and international organizations are in attendance, alongside over 200 experts and scholars from China and abroad. The level of engagement surpasses all previous forums, signaling a strong global interest in collaborative security efforts.

The Beijing Xiangshan Forum serves as a significant platform for dialogue on security issues in the Asia-Pacific region and beyond. As global challenges become more complex, such forums are instrumental in facilitating understanding and cooperation among nations.
