Xi Jinping Congratulates DPRK on 76th Founding Anniversary

Chinese President Xi Jinping has extended a warm congratulatory message to Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK) and President of the State Affairs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK), on the occasion of the DPRK’s 76th founding anniversary.

In his message, Xi Jinping, who also serves as General Secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, praised the DPRK’s achievements over the past 76 years. He highlighted the unity of the DPRK people under the leadership of the WPK and their vigorous development of various national causes.

Xi noted that in recent years, Comrade General Secretary Kim has guided the Party and the people of the DPRK in thoroughly implementing the guiding principles of the WPK’s 8th Congress and its plenary sessions, achieving significant progress in national construction and development.

Expressing confidence in the future, Xi said that under the leadership of the WPK headed by Comrade General Secretary, the DPRK people will surely attain new and greater victories in advancing the cause of DPRK-style socialism.

Emphasizing the deep-rooted friendship between China and the DPRK, Xi stressed that the two countries are linked by mountains and rivers, and their friendship grows stronger over time. He noted that this year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations and the “China-DPRK Friendship Year.”

Xi Jinping affirmed that under the new circumstances, China will continue to view bilateral relations from a strategic and long-term perspective. He expressed willingness to deepen strategic communication, strengthen coordination and cooperation with the DPRK, and jointly maintain, consolidate, and develop the traditional friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries.

He called on both sides to jointly advance the cause of socialism, bringing more benefits to their peoples and making greater contributions to peace, stability, development, and prosperity in the region and the world.
