Chinese President Xi Jinping declared on Thursday that China is ready to collaborate with Africa to implement 10 partnership actions over the next three years, aiming to jointly advance modernization efforts.
Addressing the opening ceremony of the 2024 Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) in Beijing, President Xi emphasized the significance of China and Africa in the global landscape. “One-third of the world’s population lives in China and Africa, and there will be no global modernization without the modernization of China and Africa,” he stated.
President Xi outlined a vision for modernization that is just and equitable, open and mutually beneficial, people-centered, diverse and inclusive, environmentally sustainable, and grounded in peace and security. “On the path to modernization, no one, and no country, should be left behind,” he affirmed.
The 10 partnership action plans to be implemented cover a wide range of areas including mutual learning among civilizations, trade prosperity, industrial chain cooperation, connectivity, development cooperation, health, agriculture and livelihoods, people-to-people and cultural exchanges, green development, and common security.
These initiatives are intended to deepen the longstanding ties between China and Africa, fostering a collaborative approach to address shared challenges and opportunities in the modernization process.
