China and Indonesia have committed to enhancing strategic trust and security cooperation, marking a new chapter in their bilateral relations. Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi stated on Friday that last week’s high-level consultations, known as the Senior Officials Meeting of the China-Indonesia Joint Foreign and Defense Ministerial Dialogue (“2+2” ministerial dialogue), reflected the strategic nature of the partnership between the two countries.
Wang Yi emphasized that the talks underscored the deepening mutual trust and the strengthening of security cooperation between China and Indonesia. The “2+2” ministerial dialogue serves as a crucial platform for both nations to discuss key issues related to foreign affairs and defense, highlighting their commitment to regional stability and collaborative development.
The recent consultations signal a significant step forward in Sino-Indonesian relations, fostering closer ties and promoting shared interests in the Asia-Pacific region. By enhancing strategic communication, China and Indonesia aim to contribute positively to peace, security, and prosperity across Asia.
