Chinese Premier Li Qiang Arrives in Belarus to Strengthen Bilateral Ties

Chinese Premier Li Qiang arrived in Minsk on Thursday for an official visit to Belarus at the invitation of Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko. Upon his arrival, Premier Li highlighted the enduring friendship between China and Belarus, noting that bilateral relations have rapidly advanced since the establishment of diplomatic ties 32 years ago.

Premier Li emphasized that under the leadership of Chinese President Xi Jinping and Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, the relationship between the two nations has been continuously upgraded to an all-weather comprehensive strategic partnership. He pointed out that political mutual trust continues to strengthen, high-quality Belt and Road cooperation is being solidly advanced, people-to-people and cultural exchanges are becoming increasingly close, and international collaboration is achieving fruitful results.

“China is ready to work closely with Belarus to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state,” Li said. He expressed China’s commitment to further enhance the alignment of development strategies, deepen mutually beneficial cooperation, share development opportunities, and achieve more practical results. “This will continuously enhance the well-being of the two peoples and contribute more to regional and global peace, stability, development, and prosperity,” he added.

Premier Li’s visit to Belarus follows his co-chairing of the 29th regular meeting between the Chinese and Russian heads of government in Moscow and his visit to Russia. His tour underscores China’s active role in strengthening ties with its neighbors and promoting collaborative development initiatives.
