Beijing, China – In a significant move to bolster bilateral relations, Zhao Leji, China’s top legislator and chairman of the National People’s Congress (NPC) Standing Committee, met with To Lam, Vietnamese president and general secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee, on Monday.
\The meeting in Beijing underscored the commitment of both nations to enhance cooperation and build a closer China-Vietnam community with a shared future. Zhao emphasized China’s willingness to collaborate with Vietnam to implement the strategic consensus reached by the top leaders of both parties and countries.
\“China is eager to work alongside Vietnam to advance our shared goals, contribute to each other’s socialist modernization efforts, and strengthen our longstanding partnership,” Zhao remarked. He highlighted the importance of utilizing the counterpart exchange mechanism and promoting multi-channel cooperation between the legislative bodies.
\Zhao also expressed the NPC’s readiness to deepen exchanges with the National Assembly of Vietnam, focusing on the exchange of legislative and supervisory experiences. “By providing a strong legal foundation, we can ensure the successful construction of a China-Vietnam community with a shared future,” he added.
\To Lam affirmed Vietnam’s commitment to the strategic partnership with China, stating, “Developing our relationship with China is a top priority for Vietnam.” He conveyed Vietnam’s willingness to deepen practical cooperation across various fields and maintain close exchanges between legislative bodies.
