China Condemns Civilian Casualties in Gaza, Calls for Immediate Ceasefire

China has expressed grave concern over a recent Israeli military operation in Gaza that resulted in massive civilian casualties. On Monday, Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Lin Jian condemned the attack on a Gaza school where more than 100 people were killed on August 10.

“We condemn all acts that harm civilians, oppose all moves that violate international humanitarian law, and call on Israel to heed the call of the international community, stop the hostilities at once, do everything possible to protect civilians, and avoid further escalation in the region,” Lin said in a statement.

The spokesperson added that China urges the international community to double efforts to alleviate and end the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza.

China’s call for an immediate ceasefire comes amid rising tensions and a worsening humanitarian situation in the region. The recent strike has drawn international condemnation and heightened concerns over the safety of civilians.

As violence escalates, China’s stance emphasizes the urgent need for all parties involved to adhere to international humanitarian law and prioritize the protection of innocent lives. The appeal underscores China’s commitment to promoting peace and stability in the Middle East.
