Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi held a phone conversation on Tuesday with Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates, Badr Abdelatty, to strengthen bilateral ties and discuss the ongoing situation in the Middle East.
Wang Yi, who is also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, emphasized that under the strategic guidance of Chinese President Xi Jinping and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Egypt has reached an unprecedented level and is experiencing its best period in history.
The conversation focused on the current tensions in the Middle East. Wang Yi expressed deep concern over the escalating regional situation and emphasized China’s strong opposition to actions that violate international laws, infringe upon national sovereignty and dignity, and undermine efforts to promote peace. He stressed the importance of working towards a ceasefire and restoring stability in the region.
Wang Yi reaffirmed China’s commitment to strengthening solidarity with Arab countries and collaborating with all parties to prevent further escalation and deterioration of the situation.
Minister Abdelatty expressed Egypt’s high appreciation for China’s significant role in promoting peace in the Middle East. He conveyed gratitude for China’s efforts in fostering internal reconciliation in Palestine and emphasized Egypt’s desire to maintain close cooperation with China to prevent further escalation of regional tensions.
The call reflects the deepening relationship between China and Egypt and highlights their mutual commitment to stability and peace in the Middle East.
