President Xi Jinping has called upon central Party and state departments to enhance Party building across the board, urging them to set a national example and contribute to China’s high-quality development.
In a recent instruction, Xi, who is also the general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, emphasized the importance of studying and implementing the guiding principles of the third plenum of the 20th CPC Central Committee. He described this effort as a “major political task of the whole Party and country at present and in the near future.”
Highlighting the necessity of upholding and strengthening the Party’s overall leadership, Xi stressed the role of centralized, unified leadership by the Party Central Committee. He urged central Party and state departments to lead by example in deepening reforms and advancing modernization, setting the tone for others to follow.
Xi also called for a deepening of institutional reform in Party building, emphasizing the need to enforce Party discipline and combat corruption. He encouraged the Working Committee for Central and State Institutions to embrace new challenges and make significant contributions through high-quality Party building.
“The central departments should take the lead in enforcing Party discipline and combating corruption,” Xi stated, highlighting the critical role these departments play in the nation’s governance and integrity.
On Wednesday, a conference was held to study and implement the guiding principles from the key plenum and to advance Party building in central Party and state departments. Cai Qi, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and secretary of the Working Committee for Central and State Institutions, attended the meeting, underscoring the event’s significance.
The meeting focused on strategies to enhance the effectiveness of Party building efforts, aiming to align them with China’s broader goals of high-quality development and modernization. Attendees discussed ways to strengthen institutional reforms and promote integrity within the Party’s ranks.
Xi’s call to action comes at a pivotal time as China continues to pursue ambitious reforms and modernization initiatives. By urging central departments to lead the way, he is reinforcing the Party’s commitment to governance excellence and national progress.
