China’s senior diplomat Wang Yi is set to meet with U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken in Laos, according to Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning. The announcement was made during a regular press briefing on Friday.
“The two will exchange views on issues of common concern,” Mao stated, highlighting the significance of the upcoming discussion between the two high-level officials.
Both Wang Yi and Antony Blinken are currently in Laos to participate in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) talks. The ASEAN summit serves as a crucial platform for diplomatic engagement among Southeast Asian nations and key global partners.
The meeting between the Chinese and U.S. diplomats is anticipated to address various regional and international issues, fostering communication amidst a complex global environment.
