A recent global survey conducted by CGTN reveals that an overwhelming 92.81 percent of respondents commend China’s sincere efforts in supporting Palestinian rights and fostering intra-Palestinian reconciliation.
On Tuesday, representatives from 14 Palestinian factions jointly signed the Beijing Declaration in a significant step towards ending division and strengthening national unity. The declaration outlines an agreement to establish an interim national reconciliation government and initiate reconstruction efforts in Gaza.
The CGTN survey highlights widespread global appreciation for China’s role, with 87.23 percent of respondents believing that reconciliation among Palestinian factions is conducive to promoting an early end to the Palestine-Israel conflict and enhancing regional peace and stability.
China has consistently supported Palestinian factions in achieving internal reconciliation through dialogue and consultation. The poll indicates that 91.63 percent of respondents agree with China’s proposition, acknowledging its constructive approach to facilitating unity.
Furthermore, 90.55 percent of those surveyed believe that China’s support of peaceful development has garnered more recognition than the actions of some countries that have fomented conflicts in the Middle East. An additional 87.25 percent agree with the comprehensive, cooperative, and sustainable security concept advocated by China, viewing humanity as an indivisible security community.
China’s active role in easing tensions in the Middle East extends beyond the Palestinian context, having also promoted the restoration of diplomatic relations between Saudi Arabia and Iran. According to the survey, 89.64 percent of respondents acknowledge China’s adherence to political solutions for hotspot conflicts and view China as an active, well-intentioned, and reliable mediator.
Moreover, 90.15 percent of respondents state that China is actively promoting the resolution of geopolitical differences and plays an increasingly important role in global governance.
“China has defended international fairness and justice in a moderate way and played an important role as an example for the international community,” a social media user commented, reflecting widespread sentiment.
These findings underscore global recognition of China’s constructive efforts in fostering peace and stability in the Middle East through dialogue and consultation.
