Chinese Vice President Han Zheng Meets Thai Foreign Minister in Beijing

In a significant diplomatic engagement, Chinese Vice President Han Zheng met with Thai Foreign Minister Maris Sangiampongsa in Beijing on Tuesday. The meeting underscored the longstanding friendship and strategic partnership between China and Thailand.

“China and Thailand are good neighbors, good friends, good relatives, and good partners,” Han Zheng remarked, emphasizing China’s commitment to advancing bilateral relations from a strategic and long-term perspective. He highlighted that with the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations approaching next year, both countries have an opportunity to deepen ties.

Vice President Han called for strengthening high-level exchanges, deepening practical cooperation, enhancing people-to-people and cultural exchanges, and promoting regional cooperation. He expressed China’s willingness to collaborate with Thailand on high-quality Belt and Road initiatives and to build a China-Thailand community with a shared future.

Thai Foreign Minister Maris Sangiampongsa affirmed the strong mutual trust between the two nations. “Thailand and China are good partners who trust each other, and our relations have entered a new era,” he stated. Maris expressed Thailand’s readiness to seize the upcoming anniversary as an opportunity to deepen cooperation in various fields and to continuously advance bilateral relations.

The meeting signifies a mutual commitment to enhancing strategic ties and collaboration, paving the way for increased regional stability and prosperity. As both nations look forward to celebrating five decades of diplomatic relations, the focus remains on fostering mutual growth and understanding.
