In a significant move to bolster bilateral relations, Chinese Vice President Han Zheng met with Thai Foreign Minister Maris Sangiampongsa in Beijing on Tuesday. The meeting underscored the deep-rooted friendship and strategic partnership between China and Thailand.
“China and Thailand are good neighbors, good friends, good relatives, and good partners,” Han Zheng remarked, emphasizing China’s commitment to developing relations with Thailand from a strategic and long-term perspective.
With the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries approaching next year, Han expressed China’s readiness to work with Thailand to implement the important consensus reached by their leaders. He highlighted the importance of strengthening high-level exchanges, deepening practical cooperation, enhancing people-to-people and cultural exchanges, and promoting regional cooperation.

Thai Foreign Minister Maris Sangiampongsa affirmed the mutual trust and strong partnership between Thailand and China, noting that bilateral relations have entered a new era. “Thailand is willing to take the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations as an opportunity to deepen cooperation with China in various fields and continuously advance our bilateral relations,” Maris stated.
