China and Poland Strengthen Cultural Ties Through Student Exchanges and High-Level Visits

China and Poland are enhancing their cultural exchanges, strengthening bilateral friendship through student programs and high-level visits. Last summer, 24 students from the Confucius Institutes at Poland’s Adam Mickiewicz University and Vistula University embarked on a two-week journey in China’s Tianjin Municipality to immerse themselves in Chinese culture.

Participating in the “Chinese Bridge” summer camp, an event designed to promote understanding of the Chinese language and culture among international students, they engaged in Chinese language courses and participated in cultural visits and activities. “My journey in China is over, but my journey of learning Chinese culture has just begun,” remarked one of the students during the graduation ceremony.

The cultural ties between China and Poland have deepened over recent years, reflecting the long history and profound cultural traditions shared by both nations. On Monday, Peng Liyuan, wife of Chinese President Xi Jinping, hosted Agata Kornhauser-Duda, wife of Polish President Andrzej Duda, at China’s National Center for the Performing Arts. The two first ladies enjoyed performances featuring traditional Chinese folk music, Peking Opera, and piano compositions from both countries.

“The people-to-people and cultural exchanges between China and Poland are becoming increasingly active,” Peng Liyuan noted during the visit. “These exchanges enhance mutual understanding and lay a solid foundation for the development of bilateral relations.”

President Andrzej Duda is on a state visit to China, underscoring the commitment of both nations to strengthen ties across various fields. The cultural collaborations exemplify the shared values and the desire to foster mutual respect and friendship between the Chinese and Polish peoples.
