In a significant move to bolster bilateral ties, Chinese Premier Li Qiang and Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese attended the 7th China-Australia CEO Roundtable in Perth on Tuesday. The event, which brought together around 30 representatives from business councils and enterprises of both nations, underscored the mutual benefits and shared interests that define China-Australia relations.
Premier Li emphasized that the development of China and Australia complements each other, creating a close-knit community of shared interests. “As long as both sides respect each other’s national conditions and core interests, we will continuously strengthen the foundation of mutual trust,” Li remarked. He pointed out that China and Australia are natural partners, with complementary economic strengths. “Our cooperation enjoys broad prospects and is an important force for stabilizing industrial and supply chains and boosting economic growth,” Li said. He encouraged entrepreneurs to deepen cooperation in traditional fields and expand into new areas like artificial intelligence, quantum technology, and life sciences.
Premier Li also mentioned China’s plans to further deepen reforms and expand institutional opening up, promising an increasingly favorable business environment. He expressed hope that entrepreneurs would seize the opportunity to achieve fruitful results in development and cooperation.
Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese echoed these sentiments, acknowledging China as Australia’s largest trading partner. “China’s development has brought new opportunities for Australia,” Albanese stated. He observed that Australia-China relations are stabilizing and improving, with enthusiastic cooperation from both business communities.
