China Urges NATO to Stop Shifting Blame Over Ukraine Crisis

China’s Foreign Ministry has urged NATO to cease shifting blame over the ongoing Ukraine crisis, emphasizing China’s commitment to peace talks and constructive dialogue.

At a regular press briefing on Tuesday, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian responded to recent remarks by NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg, who claimed that China was providing technology to Russia, thereby prolonging the conflict.

“What NATO should do is self-reflection, not arbitrary smear and attack China,” Lin Jian stated. He underscored that China is neither a creator nor a party to the Ukraine crisis and has consistently advocated for peaceful negotiations.

Lin added that the international community has widely recognized China’s objective and impartial stance, as well as its constructive role in seeking a resolution. “We urge the NATO side to stop shifting blame and sowing discord, not fuel the flame and stoke bloc confrontation, but rather do something practical for the political settlement of the Ukraine crisis,” he said.

The spokesperson’s remarks highlight China’s position amidst growing tensions and the complex dynamics of international relations surrounding the Ukraine conflict. By calling for practical steps toward a political solution, China reinforces its role as a proponent of peace and stability in the region.
