China Condemns G7 Statement as Arrogant and Prejudiced

China has strongly criticized the recent statement issued by the Group of Seven (G7), labeling it as filled with “arrogance, prejudice, and lies.” Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian addressed the media on Monday, expressing China’s dissatisfaction with the G7 Leaders’ Communique released on Friday.

The G7 statement raised concerns over various issues related to China, including the situation in the Taiwan Strait, matters concerning the East China Sea and the South China Sea, as well as issues related to Hong Kong, Xinjiang, and Xizang. It also discussed what it termed “Chinese overcapacity.”

Lin Jian refuted these allegations, stating that they “lack factual basis, legal grounds, and any sense of morality.” He emphasized that such claims are cliché and unfounded accusations against China.

G7 Accused of Political Bias

The spokesperson accused the G7 of straying from its original purpose of fostering stability in the global economic environment. “The G7 has increasingly become a political tool to perpetuate U.S. and Western supremacy,” Lin said. “The group has lost its ability to represent the world and its credibility among the international community.”

While the G7 claims to safeguard world peace, Lin argued that it continues to draw ideological lines, form exclusive groupings, and incite bloc confrontations. He also accused the G7 of exacerbating regional conflicts and sending military vessels and aircraft into the Asia-Pacific region, thereby creating tensions. Additionally, he pointed out that the G7’s actions, such as arming Taiwan, threaten peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait.

Response to Overcapacity Allegations

Addressing the G7’s concerns about “Chinese overcapacity,” Lin stated that these allegations are unsupported by facts or economic principles. “It is an excuse for protectionism and undermines the global effort for green and low-carbon transition and cooperation on climate response,” he said.

Lin Jian emphasized that the G7 is the entity truly responsible for economic coercion. “By politicizing and weaponizing trade, the G7 reverses globalization where countries’ interests are deeply integrated,” he cautioned. “Such behavior will eventually backfire on the G7 itself.”

Call for Cooperation

China urged the G7 to reflect on its actions and return to promoting genuine international cooperation. Lin called for the group to respect the facts, abandon ideological biases, and work collaboratively to address global challenges.
