Chinese Premier Li Qiang Emphasizes Win-Win Cooperation with Australia at Adelaide Zoo Visit

Chinese Premier Li Qiang emphasized the potential for win-win cooperation between China and Australia during his visit to the Adelaide Zoo on Sunday. He expressed that as long as both nations cherish their partnership, they can bridge the vast Pacific Ocean, transcend differences, and achieve mutual success.

The Adelaide Zoo, home to the Southern Hemisphere’s only pair of giant pandas, Wang Wang and Fu Ni, served as the backdrop for Premier Li’s remarks. The pandas have been on loan from China since 2009 and have become one of the zoo’s star attractions. This year, they are scheduled to return to China as per the agreement between the two countries.

“Despite being far from home, Wang Wang and Fu Ni have been well cared for and have settled happily in Australia,” Premier Li noted. “They have become ambassadors of China-Australia relations and symbolize the deep friendship between our peoples.”

He highlighted China’s readiness to continue collaboration with Australia on panda protection and research. “We hope that Australia will always be a friendly home for giant pandas,” he said, underscoring the importance of such partnerships in strengthening bilateral ties.

Premier Li also pointed out that China’s efforts in giant panda conservation reflect the nation’s commitment to preserving global biodiversity and protecting endangered species.

The visit marks a significant moment in China-Australia relations, emphasizing mutual respect and cooperation in environmental conservation and cultural exchange.
