China and U.S. Pledge to Enhance Cooperation on Drug Control and Law Enforcement

In a significant move to strengthen bilateral relations, China and the United States have agreed to maintain open communication on drug control and law enforcement cooperation. This agreement was reached during a video meeting on Thursday between Chinese State Councilor and Minister of Public Security Wang Xiaohong and U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.

State Councilor Wang emphasized the importance of delivering on the consensus reached by the two heads of state, urging both nations to respect each other, manage differences effectively, and promote mutual cooperation.

“We need to deepen our collaboration in areas such as drug control, the repatriation of illegal immigrants, and the fight against transnational crime,” Wang stated. “By working together, we can achieve more substantial results in law enforcement cooperation.”

He also called on the United States to “attach great importance to China’s concerns and demonstrate sincerity through concrete actions,” highlighting the need for earnest efforts to advance cooperation between the two countries.

The dialogue signifies a positive step in addressing global challenges that affect both nations and the international community. Enhanced cooperation on drug control and combating transnational crime aligns with broader efforts to ensure security and stability in the region.
