China and Venezuela Pledge Closer Ties on 50th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yvan Gil Pinto on Wednesday in Beijing, where both nations vowed to enhance collaboration on the global stage.

Commemorating the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Venezuela, Wang Yi, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, emphasized the need for strategic planning to infuse new vitality into their all-weather strategic partnership.

“China supports Venezuela in safeguarding its national sovereignty and dignity, and in exploring a development path suited to its national conditions,” Wang Yi stated.

The two countries expressed a shared commitment to expand bilateral trade and cooperation across various sectors. China aims to assist Venezuela in accelerating its industrialization and economic diversification efforts.

Over the past five decades, China and Venezuela have built a robust partnership rooted in mutual respect and common development goals. This meeting signifies a renewed dedication to deepening ties amid evolving global dynamics.
