China Proposes Five Cooperation Frameworks to Elevate China-Arab Ties

China has proposed five cooperation frameworks to enhance China-Arab relations, aiming to elevate their partnership to new heights. Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi announced the initiative at the 10th ministerial conference of the China-Arab States Cooperation Forum (CASCF) in Beijing on Thursday.

In his keynote speech at the opening ceremony, Chinese President Xi Jinping expressed China’s readiness to work with the Arab side to implement these frameworks, fostering a China-Arab community with a shared future.

The five cooperation frameworks include:

  • A more dynamic framework for innovation
  • An expanded framework for investment and finance cooperation
  • A more multifaceted framework for energy cooperation
  • A more balanced framework for mutually beneficial economic and trade ties
  • A broader framework for people-to-people exchanges

President Xi also announced that China will host the second China-Arab States Summit in 2026, marking another milestone in China-Arab relations.

Foreign Minister Wang Yi, who is also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, emphasized the importance of enhancing strategic mutual trust and firmly supporting each other’s core interests. He called for deepening pragmatic cooperation, promoting mutual benefit and win-win results, strengthening international cooperation, and jointly maintaining the correct direction of global governance.

The meeting was co-chaired by Wang Yi, Mauritanian Foreign Minister Mohamed Salem Ould Merzouk, who chairs the Arab League Council of Foreign Ministers, and Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States. It was attended by foreign ministers and representatives of Arab states.
