China-Arab Forum Marks Success, Xi Announces 2026 Summit

Beijing, October 2023—Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi declared the 10th ministerial meeting of the China-Arab States Cooperation Forum (CASCF) a significant success on Thursday. The gathering fostered in-depth discussions on accelerating the implementation of outcomes from the first China-Arab States Summit and advancing the building of a China-Arab community with a shared future.

Wang Yi, who is also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, highlighted that the most pivotal outcome of the meeting was President Xi Jinping’s announcement that China will host the second China-Arab States Summit in 2026. “This will be another milestone in China-Arab relations,” Wang stated, emphasizing that it will further guide the path toward building a closer China-Arab community with a shared future.

The forum also echoed strong support for the Palestinian people in restoring their legitimate national rights. Wang noted that the conference adopted a joint statement on the Palestinian issue, voicing a unified call to end the Gaza conflict promptly and promote a comprehensive, just, and lasting resolution to the Palestinian issue.

In addition to the joint statement, the 10th ministerial conference adopted the Beijing Declaration and the CASCF Execution Plan for 2024-2026, outlining the roadmap for future cooperation between China and Arab states.

“China and Arab states are committed to deepening strategic partnerships and enhancing collaboration across various fields,” Wang Yi concluded. “Together, we are shaping a brighter future for China-Arab relations.”
