China is set to deepen its collaboration with Arab countries under the Belt and Road Initiative, aiming to forge a model of collective cooperation characterized by unity and self-reliance among developing nations. Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Deng Li announced on Monday that the upcoming 10th ministerial meeting of the China-Arab States Cooperation Forum will serve as a platform to expand cooperation across various fields.
Scheduled to take place on May 30 in Beijing, the ministerial meeting will feature in-depth discussions focused on building a China-Arab community with a shared future. The agenda includes planning the next stage of cooperation and addressing the issue of Palestine through the adoption of several outcome documents.
Chinese President Xi Jinping will attend the opening ceremony alongside several Arab leaders, including Bahrain’s King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi, Tunisian President Kais Saied, and President of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. These leaders will also undertake state visits to China. President Xi is expected to deliver a keynote speech at the event.
The forum aims to further strengthen the consensus between China and Arab states, fostering mutual support and collaboration. The enhanced cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative is anticipated to open new opportunities for economic development and cultural exchange between China and the Arab world.
Established in 2004, the China-Arab States Cooperation Forum has been instrumental in promoting dialogue and partnership. The 10th ministerial meeting marks a significant milestone in the continued efforts to enhance ties and address shared challenges.
