Tanzania’s Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, January Yusuf Makamba, is set to embark on an official visit to China from May 16 to 20 at the invitation of Wang Yi, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs. The announcement was made by Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin on Wednesday.
This visit marks a significant step in the ongoing efforts to bolster the longstanding relationship between Tanzania and China. The two nations have shared historical ties dating back to the 1960s, characterized by cooperation in infrastructure, trade, and cultural exchanges.
During his stay, Minister Makamba is expected to engage in high-level discussions with Chinese officials, focusing on enhancing bilateral cooperation in various sectors, including trade, investment, infrastructure development, and regional affairs.
