In a decisive victory, interim President Mahamat Idriss Deby has been declared the winner of Chad’s presidential election held on May 6, securing over 61% of the vote according to provisional results announced by the state election body on Thursday.
Ahmed Bartichet, chief of the National Election Management Agency, confirmed the results, stating that prime minister and leading opposition candidate Succes Masra received 18.53% of the votes.
