China Congratulates Putin on His Fifth Term as Russian President

China has extended its congratulations to Vladimir Putin on his inauguration as president of Russia for a fifth term. The Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Lin Jian, conveyed well-wishes during a press briefing on Wednesday, expressing confidence in Russia’s future under Putin’s leadership.

“We believe that Russia will achieve new milestones in its economic and social development under President Putin,” Lin stated.

Strengthening China-Russia Relations

Lin emphasized the robust and stable development of China-Russia relations, guided strategically by the two heads of state. “Both countries uphold principles of non-alignment, non-confrontation, and do not target any third party,” he noted. This partnership, grounded in mutual respect and benefit, has led to expanded cooperation across various sectors, bringing tangible benefits to both peoples and contributing positively to global development.

Marking 75 Years of Diplomatic Ties

This year marks the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Russia. Lin highlighted plans to enhance mutual trust and cooperation further. “Together, we advocate for a multipolar world that is equal and orderly, and for inclusive economic globalization that benefits all,” he said. The countries aim to practice true multilateralism on the global stage.

China places great importance on the strategic leadership role of head-of-state diplomacy in bilateral relations. Lin mentioned that the two leaders have agreed to maintain close exchanges to ensure the smooth and stable development of China-Russia relations.
