President Xi Jinping Congratulates 15th OIC Summit, Highlights China-Islamic Cooperation

Chinese President Xi Jinping has sent a heartfelt congratulatory message to the 15th session of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC)’s Islamic Summit Conference, which opened on Saturday in Banjul, the capital of The Gambia.

In his message, President Xi emphasized the OIC’s significant role as a symbol of unity and independence among Islamic countries. He lauded the organization’s contributions to strengthening cooperation among its member states and safeguarding international fairness and justice.

Highlighting the longstanding friendship between China and Islamic countries, Xi noted that both sides have been good friends and partners with deep historical ties. “In recent years, China and Islamic countries have supported each other on issues concerning each other’s core interests and major concerns,” he said. “We have achieved fruitful results in practical cooperation and continuously upgraded our friendly relations, setting a good example of South-South cooperation.”

President Xi expressed China’s readiness to continue working closely with Islamic countries to enhance political mutual trust, deepen practical cooperation, and expand exchanges among civilizations. He underscored the importance of jointly implementing the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative, and the Global Civilization Initiative. “Together, we can make a greater contribution to building a community with a shared future for mankind,” he affirmed.

The 15th OIC Islamic Summit Conference brings together leaders and representatives from across the Islamic world to discuss pressing issues and collaborate on strategies for peace, development, and cooperation.
