China Pledges Unwavering Support to Cambodia in High-Level Meeting

In a significant move to bolster bilateral relations, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi assured Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni that China will remain Cambodia’s most trustworthy partner and strongest supporter. The meeting took place on Sunday in Phnom Penh, marking a pivotal moment in the China-Cambodia partnership.

King Sihamoni expressed deep gratitude for China’s enduring support in Cambodia’s economic and social development. He highlighted China’s contributions as a powerful impetus for building a community with a shared future between the two nations. “We believe the construction of the ‘Industrial Development Corridor’ and the ‘Fish and Rice Corridor’ will further accelerate Cambodia’s economic growth,” the King stated.

The Cambodian monarch reaffirmed his country’s firm adherence to the one-China policy and lauded China’s vision of fostering a community with a shared future for mankind. He also expressed support for the three major global initiatives proposed by China, emphasizing that the friendship between Cambodia and China will be cherished by generations to come.

Wang Yi, who is also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, emphasized that under the guidance of the leaders of both countries, the construction of the China-Cambodia community with a shared future has entered a new stage of high quality and standard. “China is willing to work closely with Cambodia to implement the strategic consensus reached by our leaders,” Wang Yi said. “China’s development will provide new opportunities for Cambodia, and we aim to keep our partnership at the forefront of the times.”

This high-level meeting underscores the commitment of both nations to deepen cooperation and foster mutual growth. With shared initiatives and strengthened ties, China and Cambodia are poised to embark on a new era of partnership.
