China and Saudi Arabia Discuss Middle East Crisis in High-Level Phone Call

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud held a telephone conversation on Monday to discuss the escalating situation in the Middle East and strengthen China-Saudi Arabia relations.

Wang Yi, who is also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, emphasized China's appreciation for Saudi Arabia's commitment to resolving regional issues through diplomatic means. He expressed China's willingness to collaborate with Saudi Arabia to prevent further escalation of conflicts in the Middle East.

“Saudi Arabia is an important partner of China in the Middle East,” Wang Yi stated. He highlighted China's readiness to enhance communication and coordination with Saudi Arabia, implement the significant agreements reached by the leaders of both nations, deepen political mutual trust, and elevate bilateral relations.

Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud conveyed Saudi Arabia's deep concern over the current escalating situation in the Middle East. He expressed hope that stability could be restored swiftly.

“Saudi Arabia highly expects China to play an active and important role in this regard,” Faisal said. He affirmed Saudi Arabia's willingness to strengthen communication and coordination with China to promote an immediate and unconditional ceasefire in Gaza, initiate the implementation of the two-state solution, and contribute to achieving early stability in the Middle East.

Faisal added that Saudi Arabia fully trusts China and is committed to advancing sustainable bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
