Xi and Tokayev Celebrate Launch of Kazakhstan Tourism Year in China

Chinese President Xi Jinping and Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev have extended their congratulations on the launch of the Kazakhstan Tourism Year in China, set for 2024. The leaders highlighted the significance of cultural exchanges and tourism cooperation in strengthening the bond between their nations.

President Xi emphasized the growing people-to-people exchanges between China and Kazakhstan in recent years. “With the implementation of the mutual visa exemption agreement, the establishment of cultural centers, the Luban Workshop, and frequent youth exchanges, our two countries have entered a new era of collaboration,” Xi stated. He expressed hope that the tourism year would serve as an opportunity to deepen cooperation, enhance mutual understanding, and build a shared future for China and Kazakhstan.

Echoing Xi’s sentiments, President Tokayev acknowledged the deepening political mutual trust between the two friendly neighbors. “Kazakhstan boasts a rich history and culture, breathtaking natural scenery, and warm hospitality,” Tokayev said. “We aspire to become a top destination for Chinese tourists.”

Tokayev announced that Kazakhstan would organize a series of events during the tourism year to showcase the country’s attractions and traditions. “We aim to enhance Chinese tourists’ understanding of Kazakhstan and further consolidate the friendship between our nations,” he added.

The Kazakhstan Tourism Year in China marks a significant milestone in bilateral relations, promising to foster greater cultural appreciation and economic cooperation between the two countries.
