China and Nauru Pledge to Expand Mutually Beneficial Cooperation

In a significant step toward strengthening bilateral relations, Chinese Premier Li Qiang met with Nauruan President David Adeang on Tuesday in Beijing. The two leaders pledged to deepen mutual trust and expand mutually beneficial cooperation between China and Nauru.

Premier Li emphasized that the resumption of diplomatic ties between China and Nauru in January marks a new chapter in the relationship, serving the fundamental interests of both peoples. He expressed China’s readiness to work closely with Nauru to enhance collaboration across various sectors.

“The restoration of our diplomatic relations opens up new opportunities for cooperation and development,” Li stated during the meeting. “China is committed to fostering a partnership based on mutual respect and shared benefits.”

President Adeang, on his first official visit to China since assuming office, echoed these sentiments. “Nauru values its relationship with China and looks forward to greater cooperation in areas such as trade, infrastructure, and people-to-people exchanges,” he said.

On Monday, the presidents of both nations held talks and reached important consensus on advancing their bilateral agenda. The discussions reportedly covered topics ranging from economic collaboration to regional development initiatives.

The meetings signify a pivotal moment in China-Nauru relations, highlighting a mutual desire to build a stronger partnership in the Asia-Pacific region.
