China and Kyrgyzstan Embark on New Era of Strategic Partnership

Chinese President Xi Jinping warmly welcomed Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov during his state visit to China from February 4 to 7. The visit, initiated at President Xi's invitation, culminated in the signing of a joint statement aimed at deepening the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two nations for a new era.

In the joint statement, President Xi highlighted the significant progress in bilateral relations, describing them as having achieved leapfrog development and being elevated to a comprehensive strategic partnership. He emphasized the importance of the high-quality Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), stating that China is prepared to expand economic, trade, and investment collaborations. This includes the importation of more high-quality products from Kyrgyzstan and support for Chinese enterprises looking to invest and establish businesses within Kyrgyzstan.

President Xi also stressed the need to improve connectivity between the two countries. This involves constructing the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway to high standards, modernizing existing ports, and opening more passenger and cargo routes. These efforts aim to provide better conditions for the movement of people and goods between China and Kyrgyzstan.

Kyrgyz President Japarov expressed eagerness to collaborate with China in implementing the high-quality BRI. He highlighted plans to develop the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway, known as the \\"Steel Silk Road\\", and to enhance cooperation in various sectors, including industry, investment, trade, transportation, e-commerce, and education.
