Xi’s Liaoning Visit: A Touch of Warmth and Commitment

In his first domestic inspection of 2025, Chinese President Xi Jinping journeyed to Liaoning Province in northeast China, bringing a message of hope and dedication to the people affected by recent natural disasters and to those working towards urban renewal and industrial advancement.

On January 22, President Xi visited Zhujiagou, a village nestled in Huludao, one of the cities hardest hit by the devastating floods of 2024. The unprecedented torrential downpours left many families without homes, but swift action by the village committee led to the construction of new houses on safer, higher ground. Tailored to each family's needs, the new village emerged in less than two months, providing nearly 200 disaster-stricken residents with a warm home before winter's arrival.

Walking through the newly built homes, President Xi engaged warmly with the villagers, inquiring about the quality of their new accommodations and their daily lives. His visit underscored his long-held \"people-first\" philosophy, emphasizing the well-being and security of the citizens.

Earlier, during the 2013 National People's Congress, Xi had highlighted the importance of improving people's livelihoods and paying special attention to those facing difficulties. The rapid recovery efforts in Zhujiagou reflect this commitment, demonstrating tangible benefits delivered to the people.

On January 23, Xi continued his tour in Shenyang, the capital of Liaoning Province, visiting the Chang'an community to observe how public services are being optimized to enhance residents' quality of life. Since 2023, the community has undergone significant renovations, upgrading all 13 residential buildings and public areas. Initiatives promoting quality employment, education, health services, and elderly care have been implemented, supporting the residents in multiple facets of their lives.

The President also stopped by the cold rolling mill of the Bensteel Group in Benxi City to gain insights into the company's efforts in accelerating transformation and upgrading to promote high-quality development. His interest in industrial advancement highlights the nation's focus on sustainable economic growth.

President Xi Jinping's visit to Liaoning Province not only reflects his commitment to the well-being of the people but also signals a continued emphasis on disaster recovery, urban renewal, and industrial progress. His hands-on approach and genuine concern resonate deeply, fostering a sense of security and optimism for the future.
