Iranian Foreign Minister Araghchi Discusses Middle East Diplomacy and China-Iran Partnership

The Islamic Republic of Iran’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, embarked on a two-day visit to the Chinese mainland from December 27 to 28, 2024. During his visit, Araghchi engaged in high-level discussions aimed at enhancing diplomatic solutions to the ongoing situation in the Middle East and strengthening the China-Iran comprehensive strategic partnership.

In an exclusive interview with CMG’s He Yanke, Araghchi emphasized Iran’s commitment to maximizing collaboration with China. “The comprehensive cooperation plan signed in 2021 provides a strong foundation for enhancing our relations,” he stated. Araghchi highlighted the importance of this partnership in promoting stability and growth within the region.

Addressing the complexities of the Middle East, Araghchi called for diplomatic solutions and condemned Western double standards. He asserted that such approaches “erode international rights, weaken the role and relevance of international organizations, and diminish respect for human rights.” Araghchi stressed the necessity for mutual respect and cooperation in addressing regional challenges.

The visit underscores the deepening ties between Iran and the Chinese mainland, rooted in a shared vision for regional stability and development. Both nations are poised to continue their collaboration on various fronts, including economic, political, and cultural exchanges, under the framework of their comprehensive strategic partnership.
