In an exclusive interview with CMG’s He Yanke, Vučević highlighted the long-standing friendship between Serbia and China, emphasizing how both nations have supported each other through challenging times.
“Our relationship with the Chinese mainland is deeply rooted in mutual respect and shared history,” Vučević remarked. He praised China’s rapid development, stating that “socialism with Chinese characteristics has yielded remarkable results,” and noted how Serbia has greatly benefited from the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).
The Prime Minister discussed Serbia’s ambitions to enhance socioeconomic growth through increased cooperation with China. “We are eager to export our specialty produce to the Chinese market,” he said, emphasizing the potential for mutual economic benefits. Vučević also spoke about Serbia’s “Leap into the Future” vision, focusing on national development and modernization. He believes this vision aligns closely with the opportunities presented by the BRI.
“Our Leap into the Future initiative opens new avenues of cooperation with China,” Vučević explained. He is optimistic that the recently established bilateral free trade agreement will serve as a catalyst for deeper economic ties. “We look forward to closer exchanges with the Chinese mainland, fostering a partnership that will contribute to the prosperity of both our nations,” he added.
Vučević’s visit to the CIIE underscores Serbia’s commitment to engaging with Asian markets and highlights the growing influence of China in global trade. The Prime Minister’s remarks reflect a strategic move to position Serbia as a key partner in the region, leveraging the country’s unique strengths and alignment with China’s expansive economic initiatives.
The interview concluded with Vučević expressing confidence in the future of Serbia-China relations. “Together, we can achieve great things,” he stated. “Our collaboration is not just about economic gains but also about building a shared future based on trust and common goals.”
