Samoan Prime Minister Seeks China’s Support in Climate and Development Challenges
In a bid to address mounting development hurdles and the pressing impacts of climate change, Samoan Prime Minister Fiamē Naomi Mata’afa has turned to China for collaborative solutions. During her nine-day visit to China from November 20 to 28, Mata’afa engaged with Chinese leaders and stakeholders to explore avenues for cooperation.
On the final leg of her visit, Mata’afa sat down with CMG’s Wang Guan in Beijing for an exclusive interview on the program Leaders Talk. She emphasized the critical need for modernization through technological innovation for Pacific island nations, which are disproportionately affected by climate change.
