China and Indonesia Forge Stronger Ties Towards a Shared Future
After two years of dedicated service, China’s Ambassador to Indonesia, Lu Kang, reflects on the remarkable progress in the relationship between China and Indonesia, highlighting the profound achievements and deepening cooperation between the two nations.
Traveling extensively across Indonesia, from the bustling streets of Java to the serene landscapes of Lake Toba and the cultural heritage sites like Borobudur, Ambassador Lu Kang was deeply impressed by Indonesia’s diverse cultures, natural beauty, and the warmth of its people.
“In the past two years, together with Indonesian friends from all walks of life, we have worked to implement the important consensus reached by our leaders, deepening synergy in development strategy, promoting practical cooperation, and expanding exchanges and mutual learning,” he remarked.
Under the strategic guidance of President Xi Jinping and President Joko Widodo, China-Indonesia relations have reached a historical high. The two leaders have charted the course for building a China-Indonesia community with a shared future, and significant strides have been made in turning this vision into reality.
The Jakarta-Bandung High-Speed Railway, a flagship project of the Belt and Road cooperation, symbolizes the robust partnership between the two countries. Operating at speeds of up to 350 km/h, it not only reduces travel time but also boosts economic development along its route.
Moreover, initiatives like the Regional Comprehensive Economic Corridor and the “Two Countries, Twin Parks” are progressing steadily, expected to become new milestones in China-Indonesia cooperation.
Ambassador Lu Kang emphasized, “Both as important developing countries and emerging economies, our two nations share similar goals. We uphold mutual respect and strive for mutual benefit, working hand in hand on the path toward modernization and bringing tangible benefits to our peoples.”
As Ambassador Lu Kang concludes his tenure, he expresses confidence that the “giant ship of the China-Indonesia community with a shared future is setting sail for a new journey,” signaling a promising future for bilateral relations.
