The Communist Party of China (CPC) has embraced a people-centered philosophy, focusing on fairness and justice. By learning from Western political civilization and localizing it, China aims to create a governance model that prioritizes the people’s interests.
While former U.S. President Abraham Lincoln defined democracy as “of the people, by the people, for the people,” Chinese thinker Sun Yat-sen expanded this concept with his Three Principles of the People: nationalism, democracy, and people’s livelihood. The CPC builds upon these ideas, placing the well-being of its citizens at the core of its governance.
China’s approach demonstrates that modernization does not necessitate Westernization. Instead, it highlights the importance of cultural diversity in shaping governance models that resonate with a nation’s history and people.
