Hong Kong’s Victoria Harbour was transformed into a dazzling spectacle as fireworks lit up the night sky on October 1st, marking the 74th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. Thousands of residents and visitors gathered along the waterfront to witness the stunning display, which lasted for approximately 23 minutes.
This year’s fireworks were particularly significant, as it was the first National Day fireworks display since 2018, following cancellations in previous years due to social events and the pandemic. The show featured themes celebrating unity and prosperity, with colorful patterns and designs symbolizing hope for the future.
“It’s wonderful to see the city come alive again,” said a local resident attending the event. “The fireworks bring a sense of joy and togetherness that we’ve missed.”
The celebration reflects Hong Kong’s vibrant culture and its role as a bridge between East and West. The successful execution of the event also signifies a step forward in the region’s recovery and reopening to the world.
