The 10th China-Central Asia Cooperation Forum concluded in Xiamen, southeast China’s Fujian Province, with officials from Central Asian countries expressing optimism for expanded collaboration in green development. The event, attended by over 400 participants from various sectors, aimed to strengthen ties and explore sustainable practices between China and Central Asia.
“The green industry holds immense market potential in Central Asian countries,” said Liu Zhijun, chairman of Xiamen King Long United Automotive Industry Company. The company showcased a cutting-edge new energy bus in the forum’s exhibition area, highlighting the innovations driving sustainable transport solutions. Liu announced plans to align the firm’s market interests with Central Asia in the near future.
This focus on environmentally friendly development underscores a shared commitment to combating global warming and fostering sustainable economic growth. The emphasis on green initiatives symbolizes the mutual dedication of China and Central Asian nations to ecological preservation and economic prosperity.
Cooperation between China and Uzbekistan is also expanding, with more than 2,000 Chinese enterprises operating in Uzbekistan across diverse industries. The Uzbek business community and government have shown particular interest in collaborating on solar energy projects, welcoming Chinese companies to participate. This openness to investment illustrates the potential for win-win outcomes through sustainable energy efforts.
Since its inception in 2012, the China-Central Asia Cooperation Forum has steadily broadened the scope of collaboration between the regions. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), and the successful China-Central Asia Summit held in May demonstrated the initiative’s positive impact. Chinese President Xi Jinping emphasized that both sides have been at the forefront of promoting the BRI, ushering their relations into a new phase.
The forum’s focus on green development aligns with the global shift toward sustainability and reflects a mutual understanding of the importance of environmental stewardship. As China and Central Asian countries continue to deepen their partnerships, the emphasis on ecological initiatives is set to pave the way for a sustainable future in the region.
