Denmark Urges Closer Green Tech Ties with China

Denmark's parliamentary leader has called for strengthened collaboration with China to accelerate the global green transition, signaling new opportunities for sustainable development partnerships.

Soren Gade, speaker of the Danish Parliament (the Folketing), emphasized on Monday that both nations should deepen cooperation in renewable energy, sustainable agriculture, and smart city technologies. "Our shared climate goals create a strong foundation for innovation exchange," Gade stated during a policy forum in Copenhagen.

The proposal comes as China continues to lead in solar panel production and electric vehicle manufacturing, while Denmark maintains expertise in wind energy and circular economy solutions. Analysts suggest potential synergies in carbon capture systems and green maritime technologies.

This initiative aligns with the European Union's broader decarbonization strategy and could influence upcoming climate negotiations. Recent bilateral projects include a Sino-Danish renewable energy research park in the Chinese mainland's Inner Mongolia region.
