Northern China is bracing for a significant temperature drop accompanied by rain and snow in the coming days. According to Weather China, a website run by the China Meteorological Administration, regions in eastern and central China experienced a temperature decrease of 6 to 10 degrees Celsius on Sunday. A new wave of cold weather is set to hit the northern part of the country on Monday and Tuesday.
Many cities in eastern China had their coldest day since the beginning of fall on Sunday, with daily high temperatures plummeting to around 10 degrees Celsius and below. As the cold front moves northward, cities in northwest China could witness temperatures dipping below zero.
In Liaoning Province in the northeast, recent weather brought a temperature drop of up to 20 degrees Celsius on Thursday and Friday, along with rain. In response, authorities are expediting the autumn crop harvest to prevent losses for farmers. Additionally, the province has started its heating services two days earlier than scheduled to combat the sudden chill.
Similarly, some cities in northwest China’s Gansu Province have commenced their heat supply ten days ahead of previous years, ensuring residents stay warm during the unexpected cold snap.
As the cold front progresses, residents across northern China are advised to prepare for the abrupt weather change. The early arrival of winter conditions serves as a reminder of the region’s rapidly shifting climate patterns.
