Shenzhou-18 Crew Shares Spectacular Space Views of China’s Mother Rivers

The crew of Shenzhou-18 aboard China's orbiting Tiangong space station have recently shared breathtaking views from space of the Yangtze River and the Yellow River, revered as China's two \"mother rivers\".

Commander Ye Guangfu showcased stunning images of the Yangtze River, China's longest waterway and the world's third longest river. The river's vast basin is home to many renowned cities, including Chongqing in southwest China, Wuhan in central China, and the eastern metropolises of Nanjing and Shanghai.

Fellow taikonaut Li Cong shared mesmerizing views of the Yellow River, China's second longest river. The Yellow River connects the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau, the Loess Plateau, and the arid northern plains. It plays a pivotal role in enhancing the ecological environment, combating desertification, and supplying water through vital water conservancy projects.

The Shenzhou-18 crew is scheduled to return to Earth in late October after completing a six-month mission in orbit.
