On Tuesday, a draft national park law was submitted for the first reading during the ongoing session of the National People’s Congress Standing Committee, China’s top legislature.
This submission marks the first time that the country is considering national-level legislation specifically for national parks. The proposed law aims to establish a legal basis for the planning and establishment, protection and management, and safeguarding and supervision of national parks across China.
