As Typhoon Yagi edges closer to China’s southernmost province of Hainan, authorities have suspended some coastal ferry services on Wednesday. This move comes as part of an upgraded emergency response to the intensifying storm.
The provincial meteorological service reported that Yagi is gaining strength as it approaches the island province. The typhoon is currently packing winds of up to 126 kilometers per hour at its center, posing a significant threat to the region.
