Ten-Year Fishing Ban Revives Yangtze River Biodiversity

The aquatic life in the Yangtze River is showing promising signs of recovery following the implementation of a fishing ban. According to a communique released on Monday by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the Ministry of Water Resources, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, and the Ministry of Transport, the river’s aquatic biological resources have exhibited a positive recovery trend.

The ten-year fishing ban was introduced to protect and restore the delicate ecosystem of the Yangtze River. Since its enforcement, there has been a noticeable improvement in biodiversity, signaling a hopeful future for one of Asia’s most significant waterways.
